Microphone bundles are nothing but microphone kits having a range of microphones and other accessories. One prime example is Shure PGDMK6-XLR Drum Microphone Kit. This microphone kit contains three PG56 snare/tom microphones, one PG52 kick drum microphones, two PG81 instrument microphones, three A50D drum mounts, six 15ft (4.57m) XLR-XLR cables and one durable carrying case.

The PG56 is a drum microphone for close to the mike recording. The PG52 is a high performing microphone for low end tempos and bases. The PG81 is for overhead and cymbals and has fine tuned reception and flat response. The A50D drum mount is used on most drum rims.

The drum rim is both flexible and sturdy providing a stable hold and better installation of mics on drums. It retails for a price of $399. Shure PGDMK4-XLR Drum Microphone Kit and Shure DMK57-52 Drum Microphone Kit are other microphone bundles manufactured by Shure with similar parts. Audix DP-7 is a 7 piece drum microphone kit from Audix that has one D6 for kick drum, an i5 for snare drum, pair of D2’s for tom drums, D4 for floor tom drums, and overheads for live, studio and broadcasting uses. It is a singular solution for drum audio recording and live performances. The great feature of this kit is that the mics are instrument specific and give optimal output. It comes with Dflex clips and road case.

The D6 has a frequency range of 30 Hz-150 Khz. The D6 capsule comes with VLM technology popular in the D Series and is perfected for percussion and instrument microphones. The i5 microphone is an instrument mike and isolates other noises on stage and is modeled for snare drums. It has a frequency range of 50 Hz-16 KHz. The D2 for tom drums is built for saxophones and stringed instruments. The ability of D2’s is to reproduce the warmth and soothing sounds from percussions.

The D4 is designed for kick drums, bass amp and other low level instruments such as the flute and woodwind instruments. The ADX51 is a pre-polarized condenser microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern and a frequency range of 40 Hz-20 KHz. The Samson 8 drum microphone kit comes with 2 large diaphragm condenser microphones for over heads, 3 mics for tom drums, snare mic, and the kick and cymbal Hi-Hat mic. This kit is specially put together for drummers who prefer condensers for overheads. It has eight quality microphones in all to deliver the best studio and live recordings or performances.

Earthworks DK25/R drumkit system is more useful studio recordings and two TC25 omni-directional small diaphragm condenser microphones, 1 SR25 cardioid condenser microphone with a kickpad, a windscreen and a kit case. The DK25 kit is used along with electronic drums and a 7 mic arrangement to produce superior drum sound quality. The microphones featured in this kit have a better frequency response to varying instument sounds. And the different levels of sound are well balanced with accuracy and neat recordings. Another feature is the fast diaphragm settling time that result in the diaphragm laying to rest after a sound response.
